Dr. Janet has been drawn to wholistic health care her entire life! She started her career as an Occupational Therapist and was very dedicated to this profession as a therapist, professor, and political advocate. Always one to ask the question, “WHY”, prompted Dr. Janet to return to school – this time to pursue her degree as a Naturopath Physician! This discipline has provided her with a medical foundation to evaluate her clients and a huge "tool bag” of natural, effective treatments!
Dr. Janet’s Naturopath approach to health care includes a biomedical, systems approach with an environmental focus. She focuses on the whole person and provides very specific individualized care. Her Naturopath/Biomedical Approach utilizes lab testing, clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, supplements, detoxification, homeopathy and
life counseling. She values education as an essential component of empowering her clients to live healthy and happy lives.
Dr. Janet's learning and practice continues -she's definitely passionate about helping her clients be well!
NATUROPATH MEDICINE
Dr. Janet has a special interest in autism, developmental disabilities, gastrointestinal, thyroid, adrenal, and immune function. She is a life-long learner and has continued her training with the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs with recognition of becoming a Fellow in 2024. This organization is a comprehensive training program for physicians at the forefront of medical treatment for pediatric neurodevelopmental challenges.

Dr. Janet is honored to be the Naturopath Doctor at Western N.C. Naturopathic Medicine in Asheville, NC. She is currently accepting new clients – children and adults on the autism spectrum and those with chronic health issues who are interested in natural medicine.
Dr. Janet is thrilled to have settled in Asheville after living in upstate New York for many years. She loves to travel and combine medical health care work in international countries. Recent adventures have taken her to India, Nicaragua, Haiti, and Guatemala. She spends her free time hiking, cooking, and keeping up with her husband and three children!
