The Big Picture
Our world is full of hidden exposures—polluted air, contaminated water, chemicals in
food, EMFs, mold and daily stress—that silently impact your health and your family’s
well-being. At WNC Naturopathic Medicine, we focus on uncovering these
environmental contributors and supporting your body’s natural healing systems.

What is Environmental Medicine?
Environmental Medicine (EM)is a relatively new branch of medicine that explores how the environment interacts with the human body – especially the physical, mental, and emotional responses to environmental factors. EM uses a holistic, systems-wide based model to evaluate how various toxins, pollutants, chemicals, and microbes may be compromising your body. Both your environment and you can be tested! And then strategies can be started to decrease your exposures and help your body detox
Where do toxins come from?
In the age of industrialization and modern society, pollutants, chemicals, and toxins are
commonly encountered in daily life and range from pollutants that come through the
atmosphere to packaging and consumed food. Environmental toxins that need to be considered come from the air, water, food, climate changes, electricity, cleaning & hygiene products,
chemicals, mold, pesticides and drugs.
